Securing means the proper positioning of loads and their holding against platforms and/or walls of a transport vehicle by appropriate means, in order to prevent movement and falling of goods that may occur during transport. To be considered: the arrangement of the load, the locking devices, the devices and/or systems of lashing, etc.
The primary purpose of the load and size standards for road vehicles and combinations of road vehicles is to ensure the safety of road users and to protect road infrastructure such as bridges and roads. Cargo stowage personnel must be adequately trained to acquire the knowledge required to perform this type of task.
